The Thanksgiving Sandwich

The Thanksgiving Sandwich
Makes 1 sandwich

Turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, gravy (maybe mayo!?), leftover salad (yes, it’s a thing)… are just some of the ingredients to add to your day-after sandwich that elevate it beyond the main event leaving you conquering the task of Mastering the Thanksgiving Sandwich.

2 slices of nutty day old bread, toasted on one side (I do this under the broiler)
2-3 big tablespoons of mayo, cranberry, mashed potatoes and/over stuffing (choose 2) at room temperature
3-4 big slices of white turkey meat, preferably with the skin on and warmed
A large handful of leftover salad
Gravy or hot sauce, optional

Place your bread, untoasted side-up and slather with mayo, cranberry, potatoes or stuffing. I choose two, as to not overwhelm the sandwich, dressing each side with one.

Layer in turkey and the mound a huge pile of leftover salad. It’ll be dressed and slightly softened. Drizzle with hot sauce or gravy and sandwich.
